Convert PNG to SVG
Turn a PNG logo, icon or illustration into an SVG. Transparent areas stay empty in the SVG, and each colour becomes a clean vector shape you can edit. Your image never leaves your device.
How it works
- Choose or drop a PNG, JPG or WebP image: a logo, icon, drawing, scan or photo.
- Pick a preset (logo, poster, photo or black and white) and adjust the sliders; the preview updates as you go.
- Download the SVG. It opens in Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma, Affinity and every browser.
Questions
Does transparency survive?
Yes. When a PNG has transparent areas, they are left out of the SVG instead of being filled with a background colour.
Which settings matter most?
Colour precision and gradient step decide how many colour layers you get: fewer layers give a flatter, smaller file. Filter speckle removes specks smaller than that many pixels. Corner threshold and segment length decide how smooth the curves are. "Spline" gives smooth curves, "Polygon" straight segments, "Pixel" a staircase that follows every pixel.
How large an image can I trace?
Up to 4.2 MP on a computer and 2.1 MP on a phone. Logos and icons are usually far smaller; a photo traced at full size makes a very large SVG, so scale photos down first.
How does it work?
It uses vtracer, an open-source tracer: the image is split into areas of similar colour, each area’s outline is traced and smoothed into curves, and the layers are stacked into an SVG. It runs as WebAssembly in your browser.
Is my image uploaded?
No. Your image never leaves your device. Your browser downloads the tracing program (50 KB) from this site once. After that the work happens on your computer or phone; there is no upload, no server-side copy, no account and no tracking script on this site.
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no daily quota, and nothing is added to your result. Because your own device does the work, it costs us nothing per image.
